Practices We Incorporate
-
A set of mind-body techniques designed to help individuals self-regulate their emotions and stress responses by focusing on the connection between the heart and brain
-
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) also known as tapping involves gently tapping on specific acupressure points on the body while focusing on a stressful or traumatic memory and repeating affirmations
-
Havening involves gentle touch (like stroking your arms, face & hands) with calming mental imagery or distraction techniques that decrease the intensity of stressful or traumatic memories stored in the brain.
-
Mindfulness is the practice of being fully present & aware of your current experience without overreacting, self-judgment or getting lost in thoughts
-
Sound Baths with Alchemy Crystal Bowls are believed to heal by using multi-layered, intentional sound and vibration to restore the body’s natural state of harmonic balance physically, emotionally and spiritually.
-
Resilient Grieving is a strength-based model that shifts the focus from “recovering from” or “letting go” of a loss to building a new life along side grief. In this approach although grief is seen as painful it is also has the potential to be a catalyst for developing new strengths, perspective and a deeper sense of meaning. It champions the theory of continuing bonds that proposes that we maintain a continuing, though modified relationship with our deceased loved ones rather than achieving detachment & closure.
-
First Aid for Stress and Trauma are practical tools such as Trauma Tapping and Havening developed by the Peaceful Heart Network to resolve psychological trauma that anyone can learn & share
Testimonials
“I have benefited tremendously attending Sheryl's stress management sessions and yearly retreats. As someone who has CPTSD and OCD, the use of sound bowls, ear seeds, inspirational poems, and EFT have been effective in helping to calm my nervous system when I am experiencing anxiety or in-flight response after being triggered by an event or situation. Participating in these activities and/or using these tools allow me to sleep better at night by helping to ground me in the present moment.”-Atricia Love, LCSW-C

“It has been a pleasure to watch Dr. Manning evolve from a traditional, Western medicine physician into one who is truly passionate about Eastern and Integrative medicine. Over the 20 years I have known her, I have seen her eyes light up as she attends Integrative medicine conferences and learns about new therapies available to her patients. She has taken the initiative to engage in these innovative treatments, transforming her practice so that she now offers her patients the best of both Western and Eastern medicine.
While Dr. Manning is clearly energized by the expanded array of therapies now at her disposal, it is her patients who ultimately benefit most. Her commitment to exploring new approaches—including non-pharmacological therapies when appropriate—encourages her patients to consider a broader range of healing modalities. Through her dedication, she ensures her patients receive truly holistic care, grounded in evidence and compassion.”
